Daily Smile – Day 5

Forming good habits is as difficult as breaking bad ones. Finding the method that works for you is critical to your success. As you might’ve noticed, I’ve missed a few days on my daily blog. It happens. Life is anything but predictable, but if you can create a routine, at least you’ve got a basic guide. I’ll admit, online journaling isn’t ideal for me, but I’ll try to be more consistent for you guys. I prefer the old-fashioned paper and pencil.

Here are a few gratitude-journaling methods for you to try on.

The Notebook – A simple bound book of blank pages for writing. Some may also offer prompts to help you avoid writer’s block. Here’s a selection of them on Amazon. (No, I’m not getting paid by Amazon.)

The App – There’s no shortage of journaling apps available, so I thought I’d just share my favorite. Grid Diary is a very customizable digital journal that is simple to set up and easy to use. There’s a free version and a paid version that has some addition functionality. Currently, it’s only available on iOS.

The Gratitude Jar – This is a really fun way to practice gratitude that can involve the whole family. It just takes a jar, a marker, and some slips of paper. You can get as creative as you want. Look at what other people are doing on Pinterest.

Online Journaling – Another digital method, but this one doesn’t require a smart phone. Thnx4 is a sharable gratitude journal—and it’s a scientific tool for understanding what happens when people say “thank you.” You can choose whether to make it public or keep it private.

Got any other ideas? I’d love to hear them. Please share them in the comments.
